Why did you choose Webbs Kitchens?
We did consider price. The decision to go with Webbs was that it was a complete package. We knew it wouldn’t be the cheapest, but their reputation and the quality swayed us.
How did you find the design process?
We found it to be really good. We didn’t have any firm ideas, we wanted to get Jonny’s expertise on the best way to organise the kitchen. Other companies try to fit as much in as possible, but Jonny didn’t do that. From the beginning he gave us an idea of how he thought it would look, bringing the Aga into the kitchen, creating a larder cupboard next to it.
He asked what the budget was, and we went from there; it was quite organic, we put in some ideas and Jonny went away and came up with a plan we liked.
How did you choose your appliances?
We chose Neff because we were spending money on the kitchen so we wanted to go with appliances with quality and a good reputation which will last as long as the kitchen.
Were there any issues along the way?
We were sent a project plan with a timetable and list of telephone numbers of different trades and when they were coming in.
They turned up promptly, ripped out the kitchen, then we discovered (its an old house so there were going to be problems) there was a problem with the floor. It was damp and crumbling which set the whole process back a couple of weeks.
We were due to go on holiday, so we had to leave the project management to Jonny while we were away. Jonny managed to sort out the flooring company, Westmorland Flooring to come in at the appropriate time and when we came back from holiday the kitchen was fitted which was great.
What is your favourite part of the kitchen?
So, my favourite bit of the kitchen is the Aga. It was in place already, but we didn’t have any of the mantel and it just looked stuck in with some old tiling. I love the new tiling effect round the Aga, Andy did a really good job fitting the tiles. I love the fact that now I can work around the Aga whereas before I was running to the end of the kitchen to the work surface and coming back.
I love the fact that all the cupboards, I didn’t really think about much in where things would go, it just feels quite intuitive, my larder next to the Aga, all my pans organised in drawers under the induction hob. All in all, I really love it, I love the sink and even having the space for an armchair in the kitchen, I love it.
Would you recommend Webbs Kitchens?
I would definitely recommend Webbs. The project management, customer service was second to none, they kept me informed at all times, even when we ran into problems. Yes, I’d definitely recommend Webbs Kitchens. I’ve got a very nice, solid, well-made kitchen which I’m pleased with.

Steve and Anne bought their first kitchen from us back in 1983, a kitchen which stood the test of time. Seeking something more modern, after a chance meeting with their neighbour they got in touch with us again to see if we would be able to replace it. Using the same plans from 1983, Ben created a modern take on the old design, the results of which Steve and Anne are delighted with.
